Wir haben den Oscar-nominierten Spielfilm von İlker Çatak tatkräftig in Sachen VFX unterstützt. Die aufwändig inszenierte Szene einer totalen Sonnenfinsternis ist leider dem Schneidetisch zum Opfer gefallen, aber dennoch gab es an vielen kleineren Baustellen trotzdem etwas zu tun.
Synopsis:
„Was im Lehrerzimmer passiert, bleibt im Lehrerzimmer“, sagt Carla Nowak in einem Interview mit der Schülerzeitung. Auch wenn das für die Lehrerin zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon nur noch reine Wunschvorstellung ist. Es ist ihre erste Stelle, engagiert unterrichtet sie Mathematik und Sport in der siebten Klasse. Es läuft gut, sie kann die Heranwachsenden motivieren. Als es in der Schule zu einer Reihe von Diebstählen kommt und bald einer ihrer Schüler verdächtigt wird, ist Carla empört und beschließt, der Sache selbst auf den Grund zu gehen. Doch der Fall lässt sich nicht so einfach lösen und zieht Kreise. Im Kollegium ist Carla schnell als idealistisch verschrien, empörten Eltern muss sie Rede und Antwort stehen und zwischen streitenden Schüler*innen vermitteln. Je mehr sie sich bemüht, alles richtig zu machen, desto mehr gerät nicht nur sie selbst an ihre Grenzen. Das System Schule gerät aus dem Gleichgewicht.
We provided VFX support for İlker Çatak’s Oscar-nominated feature film. Unfortunately, the challenging scene depicting a total solar eclipse fell victim to the editing room floor, but there were still plenty of bits and pieces to work on.
Synopsis:
“What happens in the staff room stays in the staff room,” says Carla Nowak in an interview with the school newspaper. Even if that is purely wishful thinking for the teacher at this point. This is her first job, and she is committed to teaching mathematics and physical education to her class of seventh graders. Things are going well and she is able to motivate these adolescents. Then a series of thefts occur at school and one of her students is quickly suspected. An outraged Carla decides to get to the bottom of the matter herself, but the case is not so easy to solve and has repercussions. Quickly decried as idealistic by the rest of the staff, Carla finds herself having to answer to angry parents and mediate between quarrelling students. The more she tries to do everything right, the more she – and others – are pushed to their limits, and the entire school system is thrown off balance.
